Once upon a time being a teenager was a time of great fashion mistakes: that terrible tracksuit you thought was a good idea, the hideous pink highlights you put through your hair, the goofy attempt to emulate what was popular... and failing miserably. Well, not anymore. Welcome to the world of teen fashion idols where young women are not just wearing what's hot but creating the next fashion revolution.

The Soul Diva  Tallia Storm

13-year-old soul and R&B singer Tallia Storm has not even hit charts yet but her truly experimental approach to fashion has already caught the eye of the media - helped along, of course, by being invited to support Sir Elton John at a date on his tour. Her attendance at events such as London Fashion Week and a Vogue fashion night out has only increased her cool factor.

Style assessment: Think of a young Paloma Faith: theatrical, confident, gorgeous.

The Executive  Lourdes Leon

When you have a famous mother like Madonna, it's pretty dead cert you're going to have a load of oppotunities the average teen could never even dream of... like, er, being a designer and owner of your own fashion company?

Style assessment: Rock chick glamour with the occasional 80s throwback to the Material Girl era.

The Drama Queen  Chloë Moretz

Cute as a button, Chloë Moretz, star of Kick-Ass, 500 Days of Summer and the remake of classic horror Carrie due next year, is a favourite of TeenVogue and bagged her first fashion campaign - all at the tender age of 15.

Style assessment: Candy cute with just a hint of quirk

The Blogger Elena S

Attempting to choose a teen blogger to feature here is no mean feat
when the web is bursting full of young fashion inspiration but it was Elena's creative styling that grabbed attention. From taking inspiration from Disney characters to designing her own rose bustier, this 16-year-old, ladies, is a fashion talent of the future. (See Mint Macaroons)

Style assessment: Can look as cute as her bunny or as fierce as a rock chick in a winning biker jacket and boots combination.
